Description
Herman Baer was a tutor in Hebrew and German at Wofford College in the 1850s. He studied the entire college curriculum privately ans was awarded an honorary Bachelor of Arts degree. He was later a pharmacist in Charleston and a member of the Wofford College Board of Trustees. He was the donor of the "Benificent" plaque in Main Building.
