Description
This import certificate for one chest, 63 pounds, of green tea is signed by Lincoln as Collector and Melvill as Inspector. Includes engraved portrait of Benjamin Lincoln.
Transcription
No. 2945 District of Massachusetts. Port of Boston and Charlestown. I certify, that there was imported into this District on the Sixth of July 1802 by Head & Amory in the Eliza-Odell an American Vessel, from Canton one Chest of Green Tea numbered and marked as per margin, containing Sixty three Pounds.
