Description

Ashby notes the receipt of a sum of money intended to satisfy a debt to a Mr. Skull; Ashby sends a receipt that the amount has been given to Skull. Ashby also notes that Rust owes Ashby for salt given to cattle.

[recto] Rose Hill 5th Decr 1832 Dear Sir Your Man handed me your letter enclosing fifty three dollars + ten cents for Mr Skull which I handed over to him and enclose you his receipt for the same My man states he gave your cattle eleven gallons of salt during their stay which you need put yourself to any trouble about until perfectly convenient I should be glad to see you here again yours respectfully [signed] Turner Ashby
