Description

In this item Matthew Flume promises to pay Roger B. Taney $100 as soon as a land deed is obtained transferring 41 and 3/4 acres from Henry Peakly to Flume. Witnessed by Singleton Duval and signed by Matthew Flume. Dated October 4, 1818.

Transcription

Oct. 4. 1818. -- I promise to pay R.B. Taney one hundred dollars, as soon as a deed is obtained from Henry Peakly to me for the half of forty one and three quarter acres of land - for which the said R.B. Taney as my solicitor is about to file a Bill in Frederick County court. - The said R.B. Taney is to have nothing but legal costs unless I obtain the land. -- Mathew Flume Witness Taryleton Dubue
