Description

This document notes that the current jail is "Very inconvenient + insufficient for the safety of the County[,] Comfort of the Prisoners" and it is necessary to build a new jail on a new plot of land.

County of Worcester June 10th 1784

In the Court of General Sessions of the [….]

The Committee Appointed to View the Jail

In said County + Report Wheither it is necessary

To Build a new Jail.

Beg Leave to Report as their Opinion that the

Present Jail is Very inconvenient + insufficient

For the safety of the County [,] Comfort of the pris-

-oners + that it is Expedient to build a new

Jail on a new Plot of Ground as soon as it

Can be done with Convenience.

+ In the Mean Time that such repairs

Be made to the Present Jail as are Necessary

For the safe Keeping the Prisoners
