Transcription
My Dear Colonel, The great regard I have for everything that concerns you, occasioned me to interest myself warmly on the appearance of your letter to the Governor, relative to your contract with Mr. Frazier for /12 a ration. After having obtained an order for an enquiry, I was surprised with a report from the Committee that /9 only should be allowed. However a candid state of the matter to the House; occassioned them to overrule the opinion of the Committee, and Mr. Frazier charge of 1/ is ordered, to be paid. I hope you will regard this as one proof of the great desire I have to serve you whenever it is in my power to do so. I am sorry to hear of your indisposition, but I hope a little time and care, will restore you to perfect health. I am dear sir your most affectionate friend. Richard Henry Lee
