Description

Affadavit of Richard Gridley making oath to not hold any other place of employment of profit, civil or military under his majesty, except as a "reduced Captain" in the "First Reduced Regiment of Foot." Signed by Richard Gridley and John Hill, the Justice of the Peace, dated June 25, 1771.

Transcription

Richard Gridley Maketh Oath he had not, between the Twenty fifth of December 1770 & the 24th of June 1771 any other Place or Employment of Profit, Civil or Military under his Majesty, besides his Allowance of Half-Pay, as a Reduced Captain in Colonel Shirley's First Reduced Regiment of Foot. Rich. Gridley. Sworn Before me the Twenty fifth Day of June In the Year of our Lord, One Thousand Seven Hundred & 71 - John Hill, Justice Peace. I do Attest and Declare, That I verily believe the above Affidavit to be Genuine and Authentick.
