Requisition form signed by States Rights Gist which records the aquisition of muskets, bayonets, and assorted accessories and weapons. Dated February 15th, 1862 in Charleston, S.C.
Transcription
Requisition for Ordnance and Ordnance Stores for the use of the 20th Reg D.C. Vol. Col L.M. Keitt. in the service of Confederate States for 12 months. Musket Per 700 Bayonet 700 Musket Cartridge Boxes 920 Shoulder Belt 920 Waist Belt 920 Cap Pouches 920 Bayonet Scabbards 920 I certify, that there are 920 Non-Commissioned Officers, Musicians, and Privates under my command, and that the above Requisition is made in conformity thereto. L M Keitt Col Com'd Charleston, S.C., Feby 15, 1862 The above Requisition has been examined in conformity to the Ordnance Regu-lations, and is approved. Charleston, S.C. S.R. Gist, Adj. & Insp.
