In this document signed by James Gadsden, the Estate of Thomas W. Seabrook is allotted to R. Berry for $1179.99 on May 21st, 1836. Includes a list of items sold dating from January 1, 1835- February 25, 1836. James Gadsden was a diplomat, businessman, soldier, and the namesake of the Gadsden Purchase.

[recto] Received May 21 1836 Com J. W Gadsden Executer of the Est Tho W Seabrook Eleven hundred & Seventy nine 00/100 dollars in full of all demands to date [signed] Rbt. Berry $1179 99/100 Territory of Florida County of Leon Personaly appeared before me John Rea as Justice of the Peace[?] in and for the County of Leon aforesaid [?] Berry who being duly sworn said that the foregoing account is just and true as stated. [signed] R[?] Berry Sworn to and subscribed January [illegible] 1837 before me [signed] John Rea J.P. Amount of Berry account Including interest was 1179.99, which was paid by me. The Memoranda below shows a note from Berry with Estate of 90 including interest $95.65. which account as received by me in the settlement is credited the Estate as my account correct [signed] J.
