Description

The prisoners ask that the prison yard at Worcester jail be extended to accomodate the increasing number of prisoners.

Transcription

To the Hon. able Court of General Sessions now

setting in Worster in for the county of Worcester most Humbly sheweth your Hon. That

we are prisoners for Debt in the Commonwealth goal

in Worster + that we [?] of us have given good

sufficient Bords for the Liberty of the prison

yard agreeable to law: but as we find the prison

yard is very small + the prisoners increasing

We most earnestly pray your Hon. that

s’d that prison yard may be extended at least Twenty

Rods northerly from the Present limits + the

width of the present County Road + as in duty

Bound will ever pray_
