Transcription
Benjamin Harrison Esq; Governour of the commonwealth of Virginia, to all to whom these presents shall come, greeting: Know ye that in consideration of the ancient composition of Sum of one hundred and Sixty pounds paid by Andrew Hyness - - into the treasury of this commonwealth, there is granted by the said commonwealth unto the said Andrew Hynes a certain tract or parcel of land containing four hundred acres Surveyed the fourteenth day of July one thousand Seven hundred and eighty one on a preemption Treasury Warrant number 610 and issued the first day of April one thousand Seven hundred and eighty lying and being in the County of Jefferson in Soverns Valley and bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a white oak the north east Corner of the said Hynes Survey whereon he now lives thence north fifty nine degrees east fifty four poles to two Gums about two poles from the Bank of the creek thence South Eighty four degrees east with the Said line passing his Corner one hundred and ninety four poles to a hickory and two Iron Woods the South west Corner of John Soverne’s three hundred acre Survey thence north twenty degrees east with the Said line passing west four hundred and Eighteen poles to a Walnut & Sugar tree in Helms line thence South Seventy poles to a white oak in Hynes line thence South twenty two degrees east one hundred & twenty poles to the beginning, with its appurtencances, to the said Andrew Hynes - and his heirs for ever. In Witness whereof, the said Benjamin Harrison Governour of the commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the lesser seal of the said commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the first day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty two and of the Commonwealth the Sixth.
