THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. BY HIS EXCELLENCY, Pierce M. Butler Esq Governor and Commander-in-Chief, in and over the state aforesaid. To all to Whom these Presents Shall Come. [signed] P.M. Butler Know Ye that B. H. Saxon whose name and signature appears to the certificate authenticating the [?] Copy Act, is the Secretary of the State of South Carolina and has the custody of the original acts of the assembly of this State that this certificate is in due form by the proper Officer And by signature genuine THEREFORE, All due Faith, Credit and authority is and ought to be had and given to his Proceedings and Certificates as such. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my Hand, and caused to be affixed the Seal of the State in the Town of Columbia the first of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven and in the Sixty second year of the Independence of the United States of America.
